Product Review:
So a friend of mine told me about the Target Debit card and I was instantly intrigued. If you are anything like me you shop at Target ALL THE TIME!! I ADORE target! I spend hundreds there each month I'm sure. I had heard of the REDcard before but I thought it was just a credit card. I have no interest in getting another credit card, but when I heard there was also a DEBIT card I wondered how that worked. Well it's tied to your current checking account. You dont have to switch banks! When you use the Target Debit card it works like your regular debit card and the funds come directly out of your checking account. The best part, you get 5% off your purchases and it comes right off your total! I'm all about saving money where I can and 5% off what I was going to buy anyway sounds fantastic to me. There are only two bummers about this. 1. You need a blank voided check. I stopped using checks years ago so I had to order some. Thankfully I get free checks with my checking account. Bummer #2. You can't use it online. I dont do much online shopping on target but if I did this would definitely suck!

Now run out and get your own Target Debit card and start saving ASAP! I've already saved around $5 and I just signed up 4 days ago.

Review of Product:

LOVE it!! So I've been having some skin issues as of late. I blame my new stupid schedule that has my sleeping schedule out of wack and has me consuming extreme amounts of caffeine (SOO not a morning person). So anyway I digress. So a friend of mine CeCe (You can check out her beauty blog at http://www.bronzegoddessbeauty.com/) recommended this product, she said it really worked. I had my doubts, masques usually don't work for me, but I thought I'd give it a whirl. So, I slathered it all over my face and neck. The masque has a pleasant pepperminty/mint smell and as it dries on your face it tingles a little. The directions say to leave it on for 15 mins but I'm lazy and I probably had it on my face about 45 mins. The next day my skin was visibly more clear! It really dried up the worst of the blemishes. So I used it again a few days later while I was taking a bath and again I had the same results and the pores on my nose are seriously smaller. I have tried all sorts of exfoliants to try to get rid of some of the small blackheads on my nose but two applications of this masque did more than all the exfoliates including facials combined!

Want to know the best part of this product??
It only cost 5 or 6 bucks at Sally Beauty Supply!!

It's cheap and effective. I love it so much I bought another jar to mail to my best friend as part of a relaxation care package (she's a grad student and can use all the relaxation she can get LOL)

Movie Review: Something Borrowed

Something Borrowed

Rated: PG-13
Run Time: 112 Mins
What it is about:
Rachel met Dex in Law School where they were study partners and secretly fell in love with each other. Neither knew that the other thought of the other in more than “just friends”. When their chance at finally possibly getting together arrives Rachels best friend Darcy enters the picture. Darcy and Dex start dating and 6 years later they are engaged. One night Rachel and Dex have been drinking and she spills the beans about how she had such a crush on Dex in law school, the next thing they know is that they end up waking up next to each other in Rachels bed, two months before Dex and Darcy are supposed to be walking down the aisle. Chaos and guilt ensue from there.
What I Thought:
This is your typical chick flick! It is very cute and of course it has its mostly happy ending. Ginnifer Goodwin and Kate Hudson do fabtastic in their respective roles. Goodwin is a goody goody lawyer who would never hurt a fly and Hudson as her selfish party girl best friend. Everyone has a friend like one of these two so it’s easily relatable and come on how many times has two friends fallen for the same guy? Happens all the time (not that I’m saying its right, just that it’s been known to happen) and who wouldn’t fall for Dex?! Colin Egglesfield who plays Dex is freak’n hot! Dex is a sexy successful, rich, nice guy. Although, Dex does pull some douche moves he mostly makes up for it in the end and what guy isn’t a douche from time to time? The only downer is you never know what happens to Rachel’s other best friend Ethan (played by John Krasinski), who becomes very loveable by the end of the flick, it leaves his story untold.
Make it a Girls Night Out with some cocktails.

Movie Review: Pirates of the Caribbean – On Stranger Tides

Pirates of the Caribbean – On Stranger Tides

Rating: PG-13
Run Time: 137 mins
What it is about:
Capt Jack Sparrow is back and he is looking for the fabled Fountain of Youth!
Summary curtsey of IMBD.com
Captain Jack Sparrow (Depp) crosses paths with a woman from his past (Cruz), and he's not sure if it's love -- or if she's a ruthless con artist who's using him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. When she forces him aboard the Queen Anne's Revenge, the ship of the formidable pirate Blackbeard (McShane), Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn't know who to fear more: Blackbeard or the woman from his past
Overall I thought it was a pretty good movie. The acting in the beginning was pretty over the top but seems to even out and get to a more realistic level as the movie went on. Capt Jack Sparrow was his usual charming self throughout the movie. There were quite a few laughs and I liked the addition of Blackbeard and his daughter, Angelica. Occasionally the movie did seem to drag and it was quite long at 2.5 hours, but it usually picked back up pretty quickly. The special effects were as good as previous movies, you won’t be disappointed there. I do have to admit it did seem kind of odd to have Pirates of the Caribbean movie without Elizabeth Swan and Will, but we still had the faithful Giggs and Sparrows arch nemesis Barbossa.

Movie Review: Blue Valentine

Movie Review: Blue Valentine
Rating: R
Run Time: 112 mins
What it is about:
This movie follows a couple Dean Pereira (Ryan Gosling) and Cindy (Michelle Williams) from the time they meet until approximately 7 or so years later. It first starts before the two meet, to their meeting and hooking up. It shows how the couple once so in love to how now their marriage is falling apart and how each of them deals with their crumbling marriage.
What I thought:
I really liked this film. I had no idea what it was about going into the film, just that I like both Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams and that it looked a bit chick flicky. So my friends and I were excited to give this movie a shot. We were all surprised to find out that it wasn’t so much a chick flick but a fairly realistic look into a young couple who probably shouldn’t have married but with circumstances what they were, did so any way. This film turning out to not be a chick flick in no way diminished the enjoyment of the film but we did have to be flexible in our expectations of moving from lighthearted to the more solemn. This film was so well done and seamlessly moved between the two time periods, jumping from the young couple to several years later, it would flash backwards but you could always tell which time period you were in. The dynamic of the couple was frightenly realistic, in how a couple once so in love could just fall apart as time passed and as the people in the relationship change and grow or don’t grow and how they can grow apart.  Dean as a character is a hopeless romantic and wants to cling to the past, where as Cindy has grown and changed and Dean never grew with her. You can see how things fell apart and where as your heart breaks for the couple you think that it’s all for the best. Gossling and Williams portrayal is spot on; they both did an absolutely wonderful job in this film! I definitely have no complaints about either one of their acting chops!
Rent on a night when you are in the mood for something a little more heavy.

Movie Review: Bridesmaids

 Movie Review: Bridesmaids
Rating: R
Run Time: 125 mins
What it is about:
Lillian (Maya Rudolph ) and Annie (Kristen Wiig) have been best friends all their lives. Annies life is currently the lowest it has ever been, her business failed, her boyfriend left her, her roommates are crazy, and she is working she hates and sucks at. When Lillian announces that she is getting married and she wants Annie to se her Maid of Honor, Annie sees dollar signs flash before her eyes, but despite the cost Annie is determined to be the best Maid of Honor for her best friend. When Annie meets Helen, one of the other bridesmaids for the first time, she sees red! Could she be more perfect?! And the witch is trying to steal her best friend! The movie takes you through all the trials and tribulations of being the Maid of Honor.
What I Thought:
This movie is really funny! What makes the movie so funny is that all the things that happen along the way are things that could actually happen, although, hopefully no one’s luck is really this bad all at one time, but it’s not really all that farfetched.  All the Bridesmaids are funny in their own right but the scene stealer has got to be Melissa McCarthy playing Megan. Her character was freakin hilarious! I guess you would compare McCarthy’s character Megan to Zach Galifianakis character in the Hangover. And speaking of comparisons to the Hangover, a lot of people have called this the female version of the Hangover, and I don’t really think it is a correct comparison. Yes, there are parallels between the two movies, both being comedies about an upcoming wedding, but there are enough differences to make the comparison not a good one. Bridesmaids is a lot more emotionally involved, with the friendship between Lillian and Annie, and with Annie’s life falling apart. However, the emotion isn’t overdone and works in with the comedy very well. You will find yourself laughing and crying throughout the whole movie!
Leave the man at home and make it a Girls Night Out!

Movie Review: Thor

Movie Review: Thor
Rating: PG-13
Run Time: 114 Mins

What it is about:
Thor is the first son of the king of Asgard (protectors of the 9 realms), he is destined to be king. Thor is hot tempered, self centered and has not been putting the needs of his people above his own. When the Frost Giants, attack Asgard, Thor decides its in the best interest of Asgard to attack the Frost Giants and start another war. Loki, Thors younger brother goes to the king with Thors plan, angered the King casts Thor out to the realm of Earth to live among humans.
What I thought:
I really enjoyed this movie! I went into the movie not really knowing what to expect, comic book movies tend to be either really good, or really bad. Thankfully, this one was on the good side! There were special effects galore, but they did not overwhelm the movie, but worked with the plot so they did not overwhelm or take over the movie. The acting was good! Chris Hemsworth as Thor was really believable! Natalie Portman is Jane Foster, a scientist on the verge of something huge! And Portman can really pull off an academic, scientist type, as a Stanford grad, she has the brains to make it believable. The on screen chemistry between Portman and Hemsworth is actually believable as well. Portman is not always the best “love interest” but this time it worked. But Hemsworth is delectable in this film so I think any straight, alive female would do a little peeking. =)  The dynamics with Thor and his personal guard is fun, they look and act like a team that has been through a lot of danger with each other and trust each other with their lives. Tom Hiddleston plays Loki, the mischief making younger brother, who has always been a bit jealous of Thor. Hiddleston really gets into his role, I don’t think I have ever seen Hiddleston act in anything else, but I have a feeling we are going to be seeing a lot more from him. I really bought his portrayal of Loki. This film was also surprisingly enough, pretty funny! I found myself laughing a lot. It didn’t take itself too seriously which was great! I never expected to laugh as much as I did. Overall this was a great film, I highly recommend it and I would even see it again!
Go see it ASAP!

Product I love: Peter Thomas Roth - Instant Mineral SPF 45

Peter Thomas Roth - Instant Mineral SPF 45

From: peterthomasroth.com
Active Ingredients:

Why I love this product:
Since summer is coming and people are going to be spending more time outdoors I thought it would be important to feature some products with SPF. I recently bought this product at Sephora and I haven’t looked back. The price is very reasonable at $30.00. I live in AZ so a lot of time is spent outside and it becomes a hassle to keep reapplying sunscreen lotion especially on your face when you have make up on.  With this product you just dust it on, it goes on evenly and easily. It also goes on transparent so you don’t see the powder on your skin. When it comes to your face you aren’t rubbing a lotion into your already applied makeup and ruining your face makeup, it also has the added bonus of absorbing a bit of the oil on your face to help with “shine” all while protecting your face. I carry this product with me everywhere I go it fits easily in my purse and I pull it out whenever I need to reapply sunscreen and at 45 SPF I know I am getting good protection!

Bonus: This product is also approved by the Skin Cancer Foundation

Product I love: Clarins - UV Plus HP Day Screen SPF 40

Clarins - UV Plus HP Day Screen SPF 40

Product Specs:

Non-Chemical, 100% mineral filters day screen has ultra lightweight, oil-free formula that easily blends into the skin.

Active Ingredients:
- Cantaloupe Melon Extract - contains an exceptional concentration of super oxide dismutase, an antioxidative enzyme that neutralizes the harmful effects of free radicals on skin.
- 100% Mineral UVA/UVB Filters – Guarantees high protection while respecting the skin
- Plant Polymers – create an invisible “veil” on the skin, letting it breathe without leaving white traces.

Why I love this product:
After my small bout of Basal Skin Cancer at the young age of 29, I realized that I needed to get serious about protecting my skin. Since my skin cancer was on my face I really needed to be serious. I tried a lot of different SPF’s specifically for the face and this is the one that I came out loving the most. It is a mineral based liquid that is extremely lightweight and goes under make up very well. I found that my face did not get greasy as the day wore on as a lot of the other products I tried did and I didn’t get break outs which was a side effect of all those other creams as well. This product was slightly pricier at $38.00 a pop but I found that a little goes a long way with this product. All I use is a small drop and it covers my whole face and neck. I have had the same bottle for a year now and I am just now getting to the bottom. This product is well worth the price! Clarins is also one of the approved companies of the Skin Cancer Foundation.

My little skin cancer soap box…
If you are not protecting your skin no matter the age you really need to start. I never really wore any SPF; I’m Sicilian and rarely burn so I really never thought about skin cancer. So when I went to get a small clear bump removed from my forehead I was very surprised when the Dr. wanted it tested for cancer cells and when it came back as Basal SC my jaw about dropped. I ended up having two quick surgeries to get rid of the cancer and repair the damage to my face. And trust me when I tell you $40.00 a year is WAY cheaper than surgery even with insurance.

Song on Repeat: The Pierces - Kill! Kill! Kill!

Song on Repeat - The Pierces: Kill! Kill! Kill!
Album Title: Thirteen Tales of Love and Revenge

This song is about not being able to get over an ex, so anyone of us that went through a bad break up and just want to get over the ex can relate to the song. The Pierces take an old topic but present it in a new way fresh way. It’s an infectious tune that’s surprisingly upbeat and poppy with hints of Bluegrass. The song opens with banjos which should sound odd, but somehow it all works together! You will find yourself singing alone in no time.  I found this song theough iTunes recommendations. And guess what they were right I do love this song!

Another Repeat worthy song is:
SecretThis song is the theme song for Pretty Little Liars on ABC Family
